First notes of Przerzeczyn come from 1264 - the name of the town at that time was Przyrzyce, which proves the Slavic etymology. During the German colonization, the name was: Bad Dirsdorf (until the end of the 19th century: Diersdorf), it was used until 1945. In 1802, two valuable mineral springs (sulphide and iron) were discovered in the village, which resulted in the development of the health resort. In the 1920s, the first institute of natural medicine and several guesthouses were established.
Przerzeczyn Zdrój is a small spa village in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, in the Dzierżoniów poviat, in the Niemcza commune. The health resort is located in Przedgórze Sudeckie, in the vicinity of the Niemczańsko-Strzelińskie Hills, in the vicinity of the town of Niemcza. The history of the spa dates back to 1802. It was then that sources of mineral water - sulphide and ferruginous water were discovered here. The first spa house was built here 20 years later.
The history of the Spa is closely related to the history of the Von Pfeil family, who owned the area until 1945. Przerzeczyn - Zdrój, once Dirsdorf was the oldest family seat of the Von Pfeil family.
In Przerzeczyn-Zdrój a very unique stone was also mined - chrysoprase. Thanks to the search for this particular stone, in 1821 sulfur springs were digested, and a particularly magnificent specimen of chrysoprase found in the Przerzeczyn - Zdrój region was given to the King of Prussia by Countess Pfeil. Later on this stone found a place in the Prussian crown.
The spa activity was carried out on the basis of Resolution No. XXXVIII / 224/10 of the City Council in Niemcza of January 29, 2010 on the Statute of the Przerzeczyn-Zdrój Health Resort and Resolution No. XXXVIII / 199/18 of the City Council in Niemcza of January 26, 2018. amending the resolution on the Statute of the Przerzeczyn-Zdrój Health Resort.
Przerzeczyn Zdrój is a lowland health resort, therefore the prevailing climate here is mild. It is one of the few spas where radium water is used for treatment - that is, water containing small amounts of radon, an unstable radioactive element. The radiation emitted by radon causes a number of health-promoting processes in the body, which have a therapeutic effect, among others, in rheumatic diseases.
